FIELD: systems of automatic test and control of parameters of technological installations and processes. SUBSTANCE: first and second probing pulses are formed along two specified directions. Information on values of monitored medium is formed in the form of two sequences of acoustic signals. Device for implementation of process has three ultrasonic converters and circuit processing signals to obtain value of level. First ultrasonic converter is placed in horizontal section of first measurement tube. Second and third converters are mounted on walls of second measurement tube. Instability of propagation of probing signals does not affect value of level of medium. EFFECT: enhanced resolving power without decrease of authenticity of measurement results. 2 cl, 2 dwg
