FIELD: organic chemistry and technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of tris-acetyltripticene having substituents at β - -positions of three different rings of tripticene fragment. Tripticene is acetylated successively firstly with acetyl chloride in nitromethane in the presence of aluminium bromide and then, with acetyl chloride in dichloroethane in the presence of aluminium chloride, nitromethane and hydrogen chloride at mole ratio tripticene : nitromethane : gaseous hydrogen chloride = 1:(2-5): (0.025-0.05), respectively, followed by isolation of the end product by the known method.
