FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of isolation of trifluoroacetic acid from an aqueous reaction mixture and azeotrope with water. Method involves treatment of an aqueous reaction mixture containing trifluoroacetic acid with extractant. Extractant: dibenzyl ester at mass ratio dibenzyl ester : trifluoroacetic acid = (1.16-7.0):1. The end product is isolated by extract heating at 100-150 C under vacuum at 40-60 mm mercury column.
