FIELD: methods and furnaces for bending and hardening of glass sheets. SUBSTANCE: glass sheet rests on the same circular block during the entire process. Bending furnace is made long enough in direction of motion for delivery of partially bent glass sheet to hardening section so that glass sheet attains its final shape during passage through bending furnace. For this purpose, glass sheet is heated in furnace with such a high effect that it attains its hardening temperature before attaining its final shape. Motion and heating of glass sheet are controlled individually depending on thickness and measured temperature of each glass sheet. Bending furnace has resistors whose length in direction of motion of circular block is larger by 1.5 times than glass sheet size in direction of motion. Circular block is moved within the resistors with increasing speed. EFFECT: provision of favorable price and compact size with respect to productivity, and easier bending of glasses of various thickness including thin glass sheets. 19 cl, 1 dwg
