FIELD: technology of production of secondary aluminum alloys. SUBSTANCE: method consists in that furnace is charged and heavy scrap is melted, brought to melt surface is flux consisting of alloy of metals chlorides in the amount of 0.1-0.2 of metal weight and loaded on flux surface and mixed with melt up to melting chips together with screenings in the amount of 0.02-0.05 of metal weight. Metallurgical yield in chips amounts to 94%, and in screenings, 82%. In this case, depth of cleaning from hydrogen rises by 1.5 times, and from Al2O3., by 1.4 times. EFFECT: higher metallurgical yield of chips and direct use as charge of screenings with sufficiently high metallurgical yield. 1 tbl
