FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, production of steel in converters with monitoring of process of slag formation in progress of oxygen blow-through. SUBSTANCE: invention specifically refers to processing of low-manganese pig iron. Proposed process of blow-through of converter bath includes supply of oxygen into melt and control over process of slag formation. At moment of intensive removal of metal position of lance is increased by 5.0-9.5 calibers relative to level of calm bath for the course of 0.5-2.0 % of blow- through time. Melt is blown through to consumption of 0.1-3.5 cu.m/t of steel. Then lance is lowered to working position for the course of 1.6-5.0 of blow-through time. EFFECT: increased output of metal and productivity of converters, reduced consumption of loose materials, oxygen, ferroalloys, deoxidizing agents and pig iron. 1 tbl
