METHOD FOR INVESTIGATING STRUCTURAL LAYOUT OF ROOF IN PRODUCTIVE OIL BED Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: oil production industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to investigation of structural layout of productive oil bed roof including interpretation of data about coordinates of wells position and absolute level marks of productive bed roof. According to method, carried out in wells after discontinuation of injecting displacing agent are special field investigations which consist in measuring speed of oil collection in casing string from time of well stopping and defined is positioning of well in following cases: in one of productive bed domes when increased speed of oil accumulation is detected with prolonged period of accumulation; at minimal level mark relative to nearest points when no oil accumulation takes place in well for any period of accumulation; at sides of dome when speed of oil accumulation in well does not depend on accumulation period. Application of aforesaid method improves accuracy and reliability of investigating structural layout of roof in productive oil bed without thickening of well pattern.
