FIELD: thermal methods of pelletizing of iron ores and fine-grained concentrate; may be used in sintering of ores and concentrates of nonferrous metals. SUBSTANCE: thermal conditions of sintering is regulated by fuel consumption for ignition and additional heating, and by difference of weight concentration of carbon of solid fuel in mixtures of upper and lower layers whose numeral values are calculated by formulas offered in the invention description. Efficient calorific value of fuel is calculated as difference between low heat of burning and amount of heat consumed for endothermal reaction of solid fuel carbon in mixture with CO2 and H2On. EFFECT: reduced energy consumption in process of combustion, increased specific output of sintering machine and higher quality of sinter. 3 tbl
