FIELD: machine-tool industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to diagnosing of spindle units in metal-cutting machine tools. According to method, after selecting mode of testing operations machine tool is actuated and middle part of mandrel is machined by cutter. Signals from displacement sensors which are located in two lateral cross-sections of mandrel initially reach amplifying and converting apparatus, then are directed to computer where created are trajectories of mandrel axis in two cross-sections. In result of motion, peak of cutter describes on surface of mandrel certain curve which forms geometrical configuration of machined cross-section. Computer software allows for creation on monitor display of geometrical configuration in three-dimensional space, and according to this geometrical configuration, determined is full set of parameters relating to accuracy of machined mandrel. Application of aforesaid method enhances accuracy of measurements, widens technological potentialities in carrying out diagnosis of spindles due to determining geometrical configuration of article being machined in three-dimensional space, creates real loads in machining of mandrel, and allows for obtaining set of accuracy parameters.
