FIELD: manufacture of parts in metal cutting machine tools, namely, preliminary evaluation of accuracy degree of parts turned in lathe. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes spindle rotation angle indicator, interface, computer and contact free pickup placed on cutter holding head of rest and having sensing tip engaging with outer surface of member joined with spindle in order to receive data of motion of part and cutter apex in Cartesian coordinate system at measuring relative motion of cutter and part in shaping plane. Apparatus is also provided with second contact free motion pickup mounted on cutter holding head and having sensing tip engaging with worked surface of part. Member joined with spindle is in the form of faceplate. At working in centers second contact free pickup is designed for detecting displacement values of axis of center of tail stock in shaping plane. EFFECT: simplified system for measuring and primary data processing due to taking into account deformation of virtual part by action of cutting effort and thermal displacement of spindle at operation and due to combination of part turning and detecting its errors. 2 cl, 1 dwg
