FIELD: lime-soda glass absorbing ultraviolet radiation; may be used in manufacture of bulbs of fluorescent and electric gas-discharge lamps. SUBSTANCE: glass includes, wt.%: SiO2, 65-75; Na2O, 12-20; CaO, 4-6; MgO, 3-4; Al2O3, 0.3-2; K2O, 0.3-2; CeO2, 0.02-0.1; Fe2O3, 0.02-0.06. Lime-soda glass absorbs ultraviolet radiation and contains specific amounts of ceric and ferric oxides of 0.02-0.07 and 0.02-00.06 wt.%, respectively, and is not more 0.13 wt.%. The glass is suitable for manufacture of bulbs of fluorescent lamps absorbing ultraviolet with respect to visible light radiation and do not color the light of lamp. The proposed glass uses considerably lower amount of ceric oxide as compared with the known one. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 7 cl, 5 dwg
