FIELD: medicine, infection diagnosis. SUBSTANCE: method involves application of monoclonal antibodies raised to toxin on patient cryostate organ slices that are fixed preliminary in acetone. Then slices are treated in 1% bovine serum albumin solution and antispecies conjugate is applied. Diphtheritic toxin is identified in the case of appearance of positive color in cells as dark-brown granules. Method can be used in one's lifetime and postmortal diagnosis of diphtheritic infection.
