FIELD: mercury gas-discharge lamps for ultraviolet emitters. SUBSTANCE: device has bulb, which is filled with noble gas and mercury and contains spiral electrodes which caps are connected to terminals. Inner surface of bulb is covered with ring grooves which are filled with initiating medium. Ring grooves are located in plane which is perpendicular to lamp axis. Distance d between ring groove and spiral electrode and inner bulb diameter D conform to condition 0,5 ≤ d/D ≤ 0,9. Width of ring groove t is within range of 0.2-0.4 d. Initiating doping may be either zinc, cadmium, or binary zinc-cadmium alloy with weight percentage of cadmium within range of 20-35% and weight percentage of zinc within range of 65-85%. Emitting part of bulb is closed. EFFECT: increased output power in short-wave region of ultraviolet band, increased efficiency of destruction of organic materials in solution. 8 cl, 1 dwg
