FIELD: lighting engineering; high-intensity mercury bactericide lamps and the like. SUBSTANCE: lamp has inert gas and mercury filled bulb made of optically transparent material that accommodates external leads disposed on two sides and connected to internal leads of different length whose ends are bent and mount electrodes arranged coaxially to bulb. Electrode dashes are secured on internal leads so that part of dash facing the discharge protrudes beyond point of connection to internal lead and is bent at end in direction opposing that of internal lead mounting this electrode, length of dash bent part being greater than or equal to that of internal lead. EFFECT: reduced temperature of cathode spot, enhanced life of electrode and lamp. 2 dwg
