FIELD: locating systems using radio communication facilities. SUBSTANCE: satellites incorporated in system continuously transmit object lock-on and tracking signals. Locating devices are remotely programmed for engagement in active mode under effect of respective event and are changed over upon reception of lock-on and tracking signal. For locating the object, pulses indicating its position can be transmitted according to special curve. Since different Doppler frequency shift and different delay times of propagation of position- indicating pulses are consequences of object movement, analyses of these quantities enables location of device position. EFFECT: provision for receiving versatile information about location of remote object in global scale. 21 cl, 12 dwg
