FIELD: chemistry of polymers, more particularly preparation of various polymeric materials. SUBSTANCE: vinyl chloride is prepared by thermal dehydrochlorination of dichloroethane at temperature of 250-550 C and pressure of 20-30 atm, and 5 wt % of reaction gases are subsequently hardened, with bifunctional amine hydrochloride catalyst of general formula: wherein R is alkyl, isoalkyl or aryl. Dichloroethane conversion is up to 99% and vinyl chloride formation selectivity is 98.5-99.0%. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 cl, 8 ex, 1 tbl
