FIELD: silviculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves evaluating state of plantation by nature of changes in the extent of natural yearly falling during 10-12 year period till plantation reaches supposed quantitative maturity age; determining necessity for first and second caring cuttings by revealing tendency to increased amount of natural yearly falling; performing cuttings in case natural yearly falling amount exceeds average yearly growth amount corresponding to quantitative maturity age; correlating time difference between first and second cuttings and period of change in solar activity cycle; in case of disagreement, correcting this difference by subsequent cutting in case of following increased amount of natural yearly falling as compared to amount of average yearly growth; in case requirement for following cuttings agrees with period of solar activity, setting necessity for cuttings only for this period, which is normally 11 years. Method allows criteria for determining necessity in cuttings to be set. Such care allows plantations to enter natural cycle with maximum capacity for self-regeneration and self-regulation. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of plantations. 2 cl, 4 dwg, 1 ex
