SUBSTANCE: full water pressure Px within pipeline and its static pressure Po are applied to piston provided with reset spring and placed in actuating unit case through metering tubes communicating with inlet channels of case. First and second base planes are set and first and second sounding pulses are shaped in respective planes by means of ultrasonic transducer. First sounding pulse is radiated preset number of times which is accompanied by periodic radiation of second sounding pulse. Number of information signals shaped within information period of present metering cycle indicates instant discharge and total number of mentioned signals shaped in the course of measurements determines total discharge.
