METHOD FOR CREATING ICE-BOUND CROSSING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: ice application technology. SUBSTANCE: this method can be used for creating ice-bound crossings on natural ice. These crossings are intended for movement of transportation vehicles. According to method, additional ice course is built up on existing ice cover. For this purpose, made in existing ice cover at both sides of future crossing are grooves of depth which is less than thickness of existing ice cover. Then, steel ropes are placed in grooves. After that, through-holes are drilled in grooves and after grooves are filled with water and its complete freezing, ice-bound crossing is ready for operation. Aforesaid arrangement ensures enhanced load-bearing capacity of ice-bound crossing. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg
