METHOD OF FORMING ICE CARGO-CARRYING PLATFORM Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: forming ice platforms on ice cover for motion of transport and/or storage of cargoes. SUBSTANCE: method includes forming of stiffeners on surface of ice. Then, through grooves are made in ice cover in one direction where steel beams are frozen. Horizontal neutral axis of cross section of beams coincides with neutral axis of plate. Upper portion of said beams rises above ice cover and lower portion extending from under ice is immersed in water. Then, structure thus made is subjected to action of low temperatures (t<0^°C) during period of time required for forming build-ups under ice at areas where beams extend. Thickness of build-ups is equal to thickness of ice cover. EFFECT: enhanced safety of motion over ice cover; enhanced reliability of storage of cargoes. 1 dwg
