FIELD: ice technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves making stiffening ribs under ice by forming grooves on top ice surface at subzero ambient temperature (t <0 C) to form ice incrustation sufficient thickness under ice at points where grooves are made. Novelty is that stiffening ribs are made in ice column and on its surface by freezing-in steel pipes with welded ends to ice covering.
