FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the combined method of synthesis of aniline and N-methylaniline from nitrobenzene, methanol and hydrogen in the gaseous phase on heterogeneous copper-chrome catalyst. Aniline and N-methylaniline are synthesized at different ratios depending on the ratio of the parent components nitrobenzene : methanol, contact time and temperature. Change of indicated parameters ensures to obtain any of these products. Synthesized mixture of aniline, N-methylaniline and water is separated by rectification, commercial aniline and N-methylaniline are isolated and formed aniline is fed to the head of process.
