FIELD: fat-and-oil industry. SUBSTANCE: alcohol tocopherol solution is prepared from product sample by emulsifying sample in ethanol, cooling emulsion to temperature not below fat freezing temperature, keeping emulsion at achieved temperature until complete stratification occurs, after which alcohol tocopherol solution is separated and subjected to determination of tocopherol by any known method. In addition, value of coefficient of distribution of tocopherol concentrations in fat-ethanol system (Kα) is found. Tocopherol content in sample is calculated from following formula: T = c(V+mM Kα)/m wherein c is tocopherol concentration, mg/ml; V alcohol solution volume, ml; m sample weight, g; and M weight part of fat in product being analyzed.
