FIELD: biotechnology, antibiotics. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing antibiotics that are derivatives of beta-lactams. Synthesis is carried out by an enzymatic reaction of the parent amino-beta-lactam with acylating agent. Concentration of an acylating agent in sum with concentration of beta-lactam derivative in reaction mixture is above 400 mM. Reaction is carried out at temperature below 35 C, pH at the range from 5.0 to 7.0. Immobilized enzyme from bacteria E. coli, Acetobacter pasteurianum, Xanthomonas citrii, Kluyvera citro-phila or Bacillus megaterium is used in reaction. Acylating agent is added to reaction at amount exceeding its solubility in the reaction mixture by at least 50% preferably. The parent amount of acylating agent in reaction mixture exceeds one-half of total solubility of this agent in sum with the parent amount of amino-beta-lactam in the mixture. Enzymatic synthesis of beta-lactam derivatives ensures to avoid the use of organic solvents, decrease by-side products level and reaction stage numbers.
