SUBSTANCE: The invention relates to genetic engineering, particularly to engineering enzymology, and may be used for biocatalytic transformations and preparation of chemical compounds. For stereoselective acylating of primary amino alcohols and stereoselective hydrolysis of N-acyl derivatives of primary amino alcohols they use the mutated penicillin acylase from E. coli in which the amino-acid residue 71 of beta chain is replaced with leucine or arginine, or the amino-acid residue 145 of alpha chain is replaced with leucine.
EFFECT: The invention allows to improve the catalytic properties of penicillin acylase, in particular, its catalytic activity and stereoselectivity, as well as to enhance the ability of the enzyme to catalyze the acylation reaction of primary amino alcohols.
