FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, treating of steel with solid slag mixtures in the process of discharging steel from steelmaking unit into steel-teeming ladle. SUBSTANCE: slag mixture contains lime, spar, and pelletized aluminum. Lumped lime is fed in partially calcined state, with lime content in lumps being within the range of 2-16% by weight. Fractional composition of slag mixture components is: lime : spar = 0.125-5.0; lime : aluminum = 0.3-7.2. Amount of components in slag mixture, % by weight: lime 50-90; aluminum 1-30; spar the balance. EFFECT: increased efficiency in removing sulfur from steel and desulfurization of steel during transfer from steelmaking unit into steel-teeming ladle. 1 tbl, 5 ex
