FIELD: treatment of steel with slag mixtures in ladle. SUBSTANCE: slag mixture comprises mixture of nepheline syenite comprising, wt %: SiO2, 40-48; Al2O3, 26-40; Fe2O3, 2.0-3.5, Na2O+K2O, 18-22.5 and lime in amount of 50-70 wt % in mixture. Total content of alkali-earth metals in nephelite syenite is 6.75-9.0 wt % of amount of slag mixture. Ratio of fractional composition of lime to fractional composition of nephelin syenite components varies from 3 to 3000. Ratio of amounts alkali-earth metal oxides in nepheline syenite is 0.2-0.8. EFFECT: greater efficiency in removing sulfur from steel as casting ladle is filled with metal.
