FIELD: rolled stock production, namely in shops for hot and cold rolling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys and also for rolling non-metallic materials. SUBSTANCE: rolling method includes generation and use of magnetic field in deformation zone. Compensated rolling effort distributed along roll barrels is created by means of interaction of electromagnetic repulsion and(or) attraction forces between rolls. Rolls are placed in outer electromagnetic field across vector of magnetic flux. Compensated rolling effort distributed according to necessary law may be controlled due to moving additional magnets (electromagnets) along roll barrels or due to changing air gap between poles of magnets and roll. Uniformly distributed compensated rolling effort may be also adjusted due to changing electric current in electromagnet windings creating main magnetic flux. EFFECT: high quality of rolled stock, increased strength of rolls, enhanced reliability of rolling equipment. 4 cl, 2 dwg
