FIELD: metallurgy, possibly hot and cold rolling of strips of ferrous, non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials. SUBSTANCE: method for controlling thickness and profile of strip rolled in stands is realized by regulating electric currents and magnetic fluxes due to changing lines of magnetic force along roll barrels. Method comprises steps of continuously controlling thickness and profile of strip at rolling process according to given mathematical relation. EFFECT: possibility for accurate control of thickness and profile of rolled strip due to changing roll bending degree in dependence upon variation of electromagnetic and physico-mechanical parameters of rolling equipment, enhanced quality of ready products. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
