FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly in shops for hot and cold rolling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and also non-metallic materials. SUBSTANCE: rolling stand includes housing, rolls with built-in permanent magnets, roll drive mechanism, magnetic circuits, excitation windings and direct electric current source. Rolling stand also includes at least one pair of rectangular Ш-shaped electromagnets mounted symmetrically relative to plane normal to rolling plane and passing through centers of pressure rolls and rolling rolls. Inner poles of electromagnets embrace rolling rolls under their diametrical planes that are parallel to rolling plane. Outer poles of electromagnets embrace pressure rolls under their diametrical planes that are parallel to rolling plane. One pair of rectangular Ш-shaped electromagnets is mounted symmetrically relative to rolling plane; their inner poles embrace pressure rolls over their diametrical plane parallel to rolling plane and their outer poles embrace pressure rolls under their diametrical planes that are parallel to rolling plane. Electromagnets are mutually joined by means of inserts of non-magnetic material. Electromagnets mounted symmetrically relative to plane normal to rolling plane have slits for passing rolled strip. EFFECT: simplified electromagnetic system of rolling stand, lowered quantity of electric energy supplied to electromagnets, increased rolling effort due to using rolling stand in magnetic circuit. 2 dwg
