FIELD: poultry farming and veterinary science, in particular, poultry cannibalism prophylactic and preventing method and equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting off bird beak portion by metal knife combined with exposing to ultrasonic vibrations; moving metal knife along elliptical path, with bird beak being held so that knife displacement path plane intersects beak lower part base at an angle of 45-60 deg. Ultrasonic frequency is selected within the range of 30-50 kHz and amplitude is increased in accordance with excessive cutting force. Apparatus has ultrasonic generator with two outputs, acoustic unit, knife, electric engine mechanically coupled to acoustic unit, drive mechanism with commutation members, discharge mechanism with ultrasonic generator mode changeover switch, operational table with beak measuring opening, power source connected through drive mechanism commutation members to electric engine and ultrasonic generator, whose outputs are connected to acoustic unit through mode changeover switch on discharge mechanism. Acoustic unit is secured on discharge mechanism so that ultrasonic tool cutting edge path plane intersects axis of operational table beak measuring opening.
