FIELD: metallurgy; applicable in production of high-quality gray irons based on low-carbon melt. SUBSTANCE: method includes melting of initial melt-with contents of carbon and silicon of 0.65-0.85 and 0.2-0.5 wt.%, respectively, in ready iron. Melt is discharge into intermediate ladle. Added to melt is complex additive containing 20-35% of carbon and 50-75% of silicon in the amount of 1.5-3.5 wt.% of melt. Then, introduced into cast iron of casting ladle is graphitizing inoculants based on silicon in amount of 0.1-0.5 wt.% of total weight of liquid metal in ladle. EFFECT: reduced casting rejects simplified and low-cost process. 2 tbl
