FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: given invention is aimed at improvement of polarization characteristics of optical polarizers, specifically, at growth of dichroic ratio of such polarizers in comparison with traditional polarizers based on dyes capable of formation of stable lyotropic liquid-crystal phase and at expansion of assortment of dyes suitable for preparation of high-efficiency optical polarizers. For manufacture of given optical polarizer one anisotropically absorbing birefrigent layer formed from mixed salts of dichroic anion dyes carrying various cations is used at least as one of polarization coats. Proposed optical polarizer can contain in the capacity of dichroic dye dyes selected from class of azo dyes, anthraquinone dyes, indigo dyes, etc related in their turns to group of direct, active, acidic, metal-carrying and other dyes. EFFECT: improved polarization characteristics, expanded assortment of dyes suitable for manufacture of high-efficiency optical polarizers. 15 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
