FIELD: industrial electrolysis processes, namely iridium-titanium electrodes and methods for making them. SUBSTANCE: electrode includes iridium coating applied onto titanium base and having axial texture in one of main crystallographic directions with axis normal relative to base plane. Coating is applied onto preliminarily prepared base of titanium foil by means of magnetron deposition of iridium at energy density on deposited iridium target equal to (2-5)105 and argon pressure in chamber equal to 0.6-0.7 Pa. It allows to reduce iridium consumption by 60-70% due to lowered corrosion losses of metal at operation process.
