FIELD: acoustics. SUBSTANCE: invention can find use for control over radiation pattern of acoustic radiators, specifically, headphones, while listening to objects of sound scenes, for formation of virtual acoustic environment of high authenticity of reproduction and for realization of special sound effects. Increased quality of reproduction ( reality of perception ) of dynamically changing sound scenes with the aid of acoustic radiators with controlled radiation pattern is achieved thanks to measurement and establishment of spatial coordinates of objects of sound scenes and to their conversion to electric signals used to control rigidity of sections of elastic suspension of diffuser. Change of speed of vibration of various zones of diffuser of acoustic radiator of headphones takes place owing to it. Process makes it feasible to change radiation pattern of acoustic radiator ( headphones ) in correspondence with change of spatial coordinates of object of sound scene.
