FIELD: medicine, particularly, ultrasonic diagnosis. SUBSTANCE: examination is carried out with the aid of scanner with patient laying on back, on empty stomach. Right cupola of diaphragm is examined. First, by sagittal and transverse scanning of upper edge of liver, location of diaphragm is determined then thickness and shape of diaphragm cupola is determined. Projection in which distance from liver edge to diaphragm is maximum, is found. In this projection, with the use of markers on screen of ultrasonic scanner, points of diaphragm cupola are fixed which are most distant from one another in inhalation and exhalation at quiet and fixed breathing. Distance between then is found. Limited excursion of diaphragm is indicative of its fatigue. Thickening of diaphragm is indicative of its hypertrophy due to intensive work. EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnosis. 1 dwg
