METHOD FOR DETECTING FUNCTIONAL CONDITION OF DIAPHRAGM IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2431444 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pulmonology, and can be used for detecting a functional condition of a diaphragm in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It involves ultrasound examination for measuring an inspiratory and expiratory musculophrenic thickness in quiet breathing, diaphragm excursion in quiet breathing and in forced breathing. Original mathematical formulas using the values of the inspiratory musculophrenic thickness in quiet breathing, the expiratory musculophrenic thickness in quiet breathing, diaphragm excursion in quiet and forced breathing are applied to detect the absence or presence of a diaphragm disorder.

EFFECT: offered method allows detecting early the diaphragm disorder in the COPD patients.
