FIELD: industrial microbiology, biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a new strain of Mortiriella alpina Peyronel BS-2 (VKM F-3625D) producing lipids of high content of polyunsaturated higher fatty acids, in part, arachidonic acid (C 20:4, W-6) - up to 60-65%. The strain produces also eicosapentaenoic acid (C 20:5, W-3) and docosahexaenoic acid (C 22:6, W-3). A mixture of these polyunsaturated higher fatty acids is used for production of different preparations used in agriculture, veterinary science, medicine, cosmetology and food industry. The outlook of the use of the strain is provided by the high level of arachidonic acid producing. EFFECT: fungus strain indicated above, high yield of polyunsaturated fatty acids. 2 tbl, 9 ex
