FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed auxiliary fuel feed unit has at least one fuel feeding device installed in intake pipeline before throttle valve or after throttle valve and made for delivery of fuel at moments when main fuel system cannot provide delivery of sufficient amount of fuel. Main fuel system and auxiliary fuel feeding device can operate on liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas or gasoline. Auxiliary device can be adapted for delivery of liquid fuel or gaseous fuel. Invention provides description of method of operation of fuel feed system. EFFECT: provision of engine starting under thermal saturation conditions, increased efficiency of operation at changing over from one type of fuel to the other. 9 cl, 6 dwg
