FIELD: manufacture of monolithic glass. SUBSTANCE: first sol is prepared by mixing 100 weight parts consisting of high-density silica powder with 100- 300 weight parts of deionized water and rapid drying by adjusting pH of first sol from 9 to 11. First dried sol is heat treated at temperature of equal to or above 600 C, and second sol is prepared by mixing heat-treated first sol with 100-200 weight parts of deionized water. Second gel is transformed into molded gel, dried, heat treated and sintered. EFFECT: manufacture of monolithic high-purity quartz glass. 5 cl, 2 dwg
