FIELD: protection of various objects against powerful thermal action (overheating, flame, short-circuit, radiation, etc.). SUBSTANCE: proposed material consists of porous matrix with open pores where hygroscopic agent is placed. Used as porous matrix are inorganic oxides, carbon sorbents, polymers, natural sorbents, foamed metals, porous composites or their mixtures with open pores, 50 to 100 Nm in size; used as hydroscopic agent placed in pores are inorganic salts, their mixtures or their solutions at moisture content more than 6 molecules of water per ion of metal at ambient temperature from minus 10 to plus 50 C, pressure of 700 to 1500 Pa and air humidity more than 15%. Halogenides, nitrates, sulfates of alkali and alkali-earth metals are used as inorganic salts. Material may be compacted and may be included in other matrix with binder. EFFECT: increased duration of thermal protection in case of powerful thermal action. 5 cl, 1 dwg
