FIELD: tobacco industry. SUBSTANCE: top forming mechanism has variable length link with flexible member. Link has two tie-rods extending through guiding sleeves of yoke and pivotally secured on pin mounted on connecting rod. Free ends of tie-rods are provided with thread on which nuts are screwed. Nuts are attached to worm-and-worm pair gears. Worm is positioned between them and coupled to mechanical drive disposed on platform which is connected to worm-and-worm pair casing. Flexible member is positioned between worm-and-worm casing and thrust plate mounted on connecting rod. EFFECT: simplified construction of mechanism and improved quality of tobacco fiber obtained in the process of tobacco cutting. 2 cl, 1 dwg
