FIELD: protection of environment, namely removal of oil and oil products from water basin surface by collecting them. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes carrying frame, rotary drum with oil absorbing envelope, squeezing roller, pipeline for removing collected oil and floats. Around rotary drum on carrying frame infrared irradiation sources are mounted. Said sources are in the form of quartz halogen heat irradiators, they may be provided with screens and be alternatively directed to rotating drum and water surface with film of oil or oil product around apparatus. EFFECT: reliable and stable operation of apparatus in winter period or in cool period of days due to heating up envelope of rotary drum for preventing reduction of absorbing capacity of envelope at low temperatures. 4 cl, 2 dwg
