FIELD: satellite communication. SUBSTANCE: method is used for switching call within cells of single satellite or between cells of different satellites. It involves initiation of switching by individual user station using estimation of local conditions. If switch is necessary, user station selects candidate cell for establishing communication using dynamic list of candidates for switching which is provided by satellite. After selection of candidate sell, user stations issues request for switching. Satellite or satellites execute switching and call is established through new channel in candidate cell.
