FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: discharger for overvoltage protection has package of several cylindrical varistor elements 10 made preferable of metal oxide which are installed in axial direction one after another between upper end electrode 11 and lower end electrode 12 and are enclosed by elongated insulation outer housing 19 produced from rubber or any other polymer material. To achieve required contact pressure between various varistor elements 10-14 in package end electrodes 11, 12 are interconnected with the use of clamping members 15 manufactured of insulation material. Rotary means including axial rod 17 arranged in center that protrudes from lower end electrode and contacts pressing plate 14 resting against lowest varistor element 10 of package of varistor elements are mounted between lower end electrode 12 and lowest varistor element 10 in package of varistor elements to ensure turning in all lateral directions. EFFECT: improved capability of discharger to withstand higher outside lateral loads. 10 cl, 3 dwg
