SUBSTANCE: proposed device has case with first, actually flat, electric-contact surface and side wall. Case bounds space and has hole providing communication with space. Electrode member of device has second, actually flat, electric contact surface facing first electric contact surface and disposed in space. Part of electrode member is brought out of space through hole. Plate made of varistor material that has first and second, actually flat, surfaces is positioned in space and between first and second electric-contact surfaces; first and second surfaces of plate come in contact with first and second electric-contact surfaces, respectively. Proposed device incorporates provision for eliminating overheating and inflammation under extreme repetitive-surge conditions.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability and service life, improved performance characteristics of device.
