FIELD: finishing and modification of fibrous textile materials in the form of fiber, thread, fabric or knitted fabric, which may be used for manufacture of sanitary appliances and technical products with increased moisture absorption rate. SUBSTANCE: method involves saponifying basic filaments with sodium hydroxide solution; treating saponified filament with 3-7% aqueous solution of calcium chloride for 10-20 min, with following impregnating with 1-5% aqueous solution of sodium alginate.
