FIELD: composite materials; manufacture of articles with improved electrical and thermal conductivity, contacts for example. SUBSTANCE: proposed composite material contains layer of mixture of aluminum or aluminum alloy with particles of more high- melting material and layer of highly thermal and electrical conducting material whose thickness is equal to 5-500 average sizes of particles of high-melting material. Thickness of layer of mixture of aluminum or aluminum alloy with high melting particles is equal to 3-100 average sizes of particles of high-melting material. Composite material may consist of several layers of above-mentioned composition located in turn; surface layers are made from mixture of aluminum or aluminum alloy with particles of more high-melting material. Copper alloy, silver or silver may be used as highly thermal and electric conducting material. EFFECT: increased thermal and electric conductivity at enhanced strength characteristics; enhanced wear resistance. 6 cl, 3 dwg, 2 tbl, 4 ex
