FIELD: shut-off and regulating devices in pipe line fittings. SUBSTANCE: gate valve has sectional body where sealing member and swivel disk are mounted. Inner surface of sealing member has of right out-of-round cylinder; in cross section it has form of oval formed by conjugation of three circles. Center of first circle coincides with axis of symmetry of flow sections; this circle forms lateral sides of oval. Centers of other two circles are shifted to opposite sides from axis of symmetry of flow section along axis of rotation of disk; they are shifted at equal amount. Radius of first circle is lesser than that of other two circles. EFFECT: enhanced initial tightness which is retained in the course of operation. 3 dwg
