FIELD: electrical engineering; traction drives of electric vehicles. SUBSTANCE: proposed device is designed for electric cars with traction DC series-wound motors employing rheostatic braking. Regulated DC voltage source and diode connected in parallel aiding are placed between one of terminals of resistor connected in series with motor and corresponding terminals of motor windings.
